Terms and conditions

1. Services

Gati Packers and Movers ("we", "us") provides packing, loading, transportation, unloading, unpacking, vehicle transport and storage services. The exact scope of any job is the scope set out in the written quotation issued to you, and nothing beyond it.

2. Quotations

• Quotations are based on the inventory, floor level and access details you share with us.
• A quotation stays valid for the period stated on it. If the inventory, address, floor level or date changes, we will re-quote before proceeding.
• Waiting charges, additional labour, long-carry distance, crane or hoisting requirements and parking or society charges are billed separately when they arise and were not part of the original quotation.

3. Booking and payment

• A booking is confirmed only when the advance stated in the quotation is received.
• The balance is payable before unloading at the destination unless agreed otherwise in writing.
• Applicable taxes are charged as per prevailing Indian law and shown on the invoice.

4. Cancellation and rescheduling

• Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled pickup are refunded in full.
• Cancellations within 48 hours may attract a deduction covering vehicle reservation and crew mobilisation already committed.
• Rescheduling is free of charge if requested at least 24 hours before pickup, subject to availability.

5. Goods we do not carry

We do not transport cash, jewellery, securities, documents of title, firearms, explosives, flammable or hazardous materials, narcotics, perishable food, live plants or animals, or any item whose transport is restricted under Indian law. You must not include such items in the consignment.

6. Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate inventory, address and access information.
• Be present, or nominate someone, at both pickup and delivery.
• Obtain society, building or gate permissions where these are required.
• Verify the carton count against the inventory list at the time of delivery.

7. Liability and claims

• Transit insurance is optional and, where taken, is issued by a third-party insurer. Cover, exclusions and the claim process are governed by that policy, which we share with you in writing before payment.
• Where insurance has not been taken, our liability for loss or damage is limited to the value stated in the booking documents.
• Claims must be reported in writing within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs and the delivery documentation, so that the goods can be inspected.
• We are not liable for delay or loss caused by events outside our control, including weather, accidents, strikes, road closures, government restrictions or acts of authority.

8. Storage

Storage is billed for the agreed period. Extension beyond that period is billed at the prevailing rate. Goods can be released only to you or a person you authorise in writing.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bangalore, Karnataka.
